Why the Tapes Play Records

A once and potential future project

About 14 years ago I got the crazy idea to start a boutique cassette label that would specialize in miniscule quantities. Our first release was At the Record Shop by Orange Cake Mix (Jim Rao). I was psyched to release music by one of my musical heroes.

This podcast was an attempt to document some of the tapes we released. We released a pirated version of Solid Space - Space Museum; a compilation by the New Hampshire band The Old World, a “greatest hits” tape by Greg Murray and more.
